The Association of the Promotion of Sino-African Studies (APSAS) in collaboration with the Confucius Institute in Cameroon successfully held the « National Chinese Essay Competition » for secondary schools in Cameroon

In order to encourage Cameroonian middle school students to learn Chinese, the Association for the Promotion of Sino-African Studies (APSAS) in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at the University of Yaoundé II jointly organized the « Cameroon National Middle School Students Chinese essay Competition » on the topic « My Experience in Learning Chinese ». Nearly 100 middle school students from seven regions across the country actively participated in this competition.

After rigorous selection, miss Djifida Lopsia Giselle, a student from Collège Bilingue Jacques de Bernon (CBJB) in Maroua, won the first prize. In the presence of Dr Nama Didier, the National Pedagogic Inspector of Chinese language at the Ministry of Secondary Education, Mr. Wapou L. Jacob the Regional Pedagogic Inspector and Mr. Djomdi Abdoul Nasser the Director of Confucius Center in Maroua, also members of the association,the ceremony has been presided by the principal of thesaid College Rev. P. Stephane Modegoan Ndjembie, SAC. During the ceremony, Dr Gonondo Jean, the president of the APSAS encouraged students to continue working hard .
